A Croatian Student's Hair Transplant Journey in Korea: A Complete Transformation After One Year

 Not long ago, a student from Croatia, who was studying in Korea, visited our clinic. Before returning to his home country after completing his studies, he wanted to address his long-time concern—receding temples and a weakened hairline due to hair loss.

He told us:
“Turkey is close to my country, so I considered getting a transplant there. But I trust Korean medical care much more based on my experiences here.”

He had naturally fine and light Western hair with low density and fewer multi-hair follicular units, which made careful planning for transplantation even more important.


Initially, we planned for around 2,000 hairs grafts. 

Considering the cost, he chose the FUT (strip) method rather than the non-incisional FUE. 


The focus of the design was to restore a natural and balanced appearance. Although he had good facial features, his thinning hairline made him appear older and less confident. We carefully reinforced the frontal hairline and temple areas to achieve a natural density without overdoing it.


                                                                                                           

However, due to his fine hair, we were able to implant 2 hairs where only 1 would typically go, and 3 where 2 would fit, resulting in a 60% increase—a total of 3,200 grafts.

After surgery, he completed our professional post-operative care program and returned to his home country.


Exactly one year later—
He sent us updated photos, and we were amazed by the transformation. His hairline had become more defined and natural, giving his face a sharper and softer look. He was also able to enjoy a wider range of hairstyles.








“My life has honestly changed. I feel more confident in photos, and people say my overall impression has improved,” he said.

Because his hair loss is genetic, he is now taking prescription hair loss medication regularly. Thanks to this, the likelihood of needing a second transplant is very low.

This case shows how advanced Korean hair transplant techniques can produce satisfying results regardless of nationality or hair type. Even for those with fine Western hair, natural and dense results are possible through precise planning and technique.
